A familiar Canadian-looking plaque at the base of the flagpole, explaining the back story... basically a single Douglas Fir tree from BC, 128 feet high. Presented to the Commonwealth of Australia in 1957 by the Government of Canada and the Canadian Timber Industry, hand in hand as always.
