One of those moments, maybe a prize-winning photo? This was from a ferry on the way back in to the city from Camp Cove.

Around the corner from South Head into the harbour, you come across Camp Cove, a nice swimming and snorkelling spot. This was where the First Fleet first landed in 1788 upon arrival in Sydney Harbour, but they didn't stay long and moved down to The Rocks soon afterwards, perhaps hours later... as a result, there is just a tiny plaque recognizing the fact. Nevertheless, this was technically the first landing.

Fort Denison up close, the Alcatraz of Sydney; convict prisoners were held here for extreme punishment, often chained to the walls in the hot sun for hours..
