Looking south back past The Gap, Bondi would be just over the hill in the distance.

The Gap, near the South Head, perhaps the most dramatic spot and also the most tragic. Lots of signs here.

Around the corner from South Head into the harbour, you come across Camp Cove, a nice swimming and snorkelling spot. This was where the First Fleet first landed in 1788 upon arrival in Sydney Harbour, but they didn't stay long and moved down to The Rocks soon afterwards, perhaps hours later... as a result, there is just a tiny plaque recognizing the fact. Nevertheless, this was technically the first landing.
