Sydney Day 2: Hyde Park Barracks, ANZAC, Pylon, Olympic Park AND Luna Park

The Sydney Olympic Park coming into view in the distance, from the ferry. The Olympic Stadium has the angled roof and the light standards sticking up are part of the Showground, the equestrian field.

I took the ferry out to the Olympic Park, a 45 minute cruise through the length of the harbour, all included on my transit pass. This view was from the ferry, just passed the bridge.

All Sydney ferries have open air sections, most on the roof like this one. Each ferry is a different design, it's like a random collection of boats they have pooled together for the service. It is all operated by the government but likely to be privatized soon, which will eliminate some routes and drive the fares up. A 45 to 60 minute cruise like this would cost $6.60 one way or is unlimited with all transit passes. By far the best value thing you can do in Sydney.
