"Is it Monday?" Ashley asked as we walked towards the beach in search of sweet mango sticky rice.
"Sounds good." I replied. "Why do you ask?"
"I just saw a yellow shirt," Ashley pointed at the last passerby.
Of course it's Monday then!
Every Monday most people in Thailand wear their special Yellow King Shirt to show their true affection for the nation's glorious leader. And yellow is the King's favorite color one should note.
Most days of the week have long been forgotten in the land of the traveler... until Monday rolls around again. Even Lucy has a Yellow King Shirt in her closet to blend in at Chaing Mai University. Imagine if everyone in the States wore a special color one day a week for our President?
