A 'place' I have visited

My name is Fiona. As a child, I was an avid reader of history and fantasy. I imagined foreign lands and outer space. Gradually, I became interested in politics, people, society...the world.
There are two places that greatly impacted me. The first was Beijing where I attended the 2008 Olympics. It was the world converged; the goodwill of all peoples, the potential of all nations.
The second was Banff where in the beautiful stillness of winter, my spirit awoke. It has been burning ever since.
Over the past several years, my travels have grown me as a person and strengthened my desire for expression. Photography is my perception of the world; a form that all people can understand. Words or language cannot do the same.
My hopes for this scholarship are to improve my technical ability and open a pathway to the profession. I am an amateur photographer. My photos appear only on my blog.
My aim in traveling (and life) is to seek, discover and understand.
