Got started early and headed to Van der Helstplein as that was the meeting place for the Urban Photo Race (UPR) practice day (meet up). We got there early, hung in a cafe, I skipped breakfast while E enjoyed a crossant and coffee. Weather wasn't great (infact it was pretty damn freezingly awful) but we were optimistic we'd have a great day. The UPR sees photographers of all levels race around the city, taking photos based around themes given at each check point. We ran the first three check points (Natural World, Market Place and Landmarks) as a fun little trial day and met some cool people...we unfortunately won't be here to attend the real race. It took several hours and allowed us to explore parts of the city we hadn't yet seen. After the race we happily stumbled upon Sir Hummus, got a take away tub and pitas, then went out for a sensational thai meal. Quote of the day from an irrate meetup attendee about the last checkpoint:"There is no beans and bagels at Museumplein and I was NOT pleased!!!!". Ohh we laughed.
