Another day of sunshine, ferry trip to San Fran's "infamous", bad-ass island. To my excitement there was an art installation by Ai WeiWei currently showing. His Chinese dragon kite 'With Wind' uses an ancient art form to reference a stark contemporary reality (freedom for speaking out about beliefs). Ai Wei is a vocal critic of the Chinese government, and as a result authorities confiscated his passport, so it was heart breaking to discover that he will never see the exhibition. Rode the street car, did some reading, dinner at an Italian restaurant, delicious Italian gelato - the best!
