Learning to enjoy my own company

UNITED KINGDOM | Thursday, 9 May 2013 | Views [267]

Despite meeting many people, backpacking alone is still a huge lesson in coming to really rely on yourself and be content to enjoy a dinner and beer (with an ipad or tourist map to study, of course). Most of the time it is important to take your experience from your surroundings rather than the people surrounding you.

The weather has yet to improve in Bath and I've had quite the experience today trying to work an umbrella in gale force winds. But rain, hail or shine (and yes I have experienced all 3 whilst in the UK) I intend to sightsee and make the most of Bath tomorrow! Unfortunately I will be unable to visit the Windsor Castle tomorrow (bizarely they don't run tours from Bath). But no worries I did meet someone last night that had seen the Queen! I took a photo of his photo. The Ascot races still has potential for me to catch a glimpse of the royal family!
