I am a full time student at a four-year university in the United States of America. I am working as an independant undergraduate researcher and will be graduating and receiving my Bachelor's in Biology in the spring 2014. I hope to build a career primarily in the field of marine biology. Currently I am investigating life history and behavior of apple snails in the family Pomacea and trophic/ecological interactions of the snails in native and invasive habitats. My first trip abroad will be to South America, Uruguay, to investigate the snail in it's native environments. I am very excited about this trip as this is my very first trip out of the country! I hope this journal helps me to keep up with all of the fun and amazing things I will encounter and that anyone reading this finds a smile on their face and perhaps can experience some of these adventures with me.
