The Wild West Coast

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

This photograph of a winter mountaineer on the ridge of Liathach (an impressive mountain just north of Applecross) represents some of what the tourist industry is about in the small communities on the west coast. The human impact is negligible and red deer, a golden eagle and countless other species were sighted very close by on the ascent.
