The bat must have smelled like nectar, causing the butterfly to do a dance of death around him. After a couple of missed left and right hooks (literally!), the butterfly left unscathed and the bat resumed his vampire-like pose then dozed off.

Nothing beats a good old handshake when meeting unusual creatures for the first time, extra terrestrials or not. A looming crow spoiled the fun, however, causing the meerkats to bolt off like sacred rabbits.
