Pakse to Don Khon, 4000 islands!!!

After a nervous wait at our hotel for our mini bus we had booked the day before, 45 minutes after they had agreed,  our lift turned up, phew!!!!!  We jumped in and joined about 6 others and after a few hours we stopped and were instructed 'cambodia this way, 4000 island not far from boat'.......good, that's clear then!   We headed down the dusty road loaded with our bags and came to the water, then found the ticket place where luckily they accepted our pre bought ticket.

They completely loaded a wooden long tail boat with us all and chucked our big bags into a pile at the front as it slowly started to sit lower and lower in the water!!!

We made our way slowly across the water, passing little grassy islands and then pulled up onto the sand for the first stop off.....Luckily most of our boat jumped off here.  We carried on and after a few more stops on our island we asked for 'pans place's and luckily he seemed to know and pulled up by a grassy verge where we saw 3 separate small wooden huts looking out onto the river with a few deck Chairs and a hammock on each of the veranda's.  We walked on past a few more huts/bungows and found reception, to walk back and find the first one we saw would be ours for the next 4 nights!!! Woo hoo!!! So I write this looking out onto the river from our veranda, with a few coconut trees leaning in towards the river! Amazing - it was worth the stay in the nasty 'hotel'.  It's absolutely awesome!! 😊😊
