Caught our flight to Pakse and taxi to pre booked hotel (we thought pre booking might be better to avoid getting desperate and staying in dodgy places). Turned out (even though we looked at map, which wasn't very useful) we were right out of town and it was a bit of a dump! We needed to get into town so started walking hoping to hale a Tuk-Tuk. Also turns out not many in Pakse understand any English. Third time lucky we pointed to town on a map we managed to take from a hotel we had past. Anyway, we booked our trip to 4000 islands, got some cash (no atm's on the island) and had dinner before heading back to hotel......sleeping liners out!!
