lets have a go at weaving!!!!

We booked a 1/2 day weaving course with Ock Pop Top and were driven to their base by a Tuk-Tuk which ended up being beautiful - a quiet setting overlooking the Mekong.

We started out spinning the silk onto a bobbin and then shown how to use the impressive weaving looms! It took some concentrating and a lot of help from our master weaving teachers but Emma and I had each made our own placemats!

After a chilled afternoon weaving we decided to try out an equally chilled spot for supper, utopia.......a candlelit bamboo hut with lots of lounging cushions and fab tunes being played all overlooking the nam Khan river.....mmmmm, after our traumatic start Luang Praubang seems to be redeeming itself, it is actually rather beautiful when you avoid the touristy streets.
