Sunday, August 2, 2009. I'm in Oxford, North Carolina at the moment visiting my grandmother. We've had a lovely time so far, eating, watching TV, sleeping, visiting neighbors, shopping, and eating. Yes, I realize I said that already. :) She made peach jam that is so fantastic. I've not done a direct comparison test yet, but it just might be better than her strawberry jam. Just maybe. I've also had plenty of fried corn and butter beans, biscuits, and even a trip to Bullock's for BBQ and Brunswick Stew-the best ever!
One of our days shopping entailed a party at an antique store in Downtown Oxford, which was neat. We spent a good hour or more wandering around the two-story shop looking at everything from books to jack-in-the-boxes and dress gloves to furniture. I've gotten to visit with my aunt, uncle, and cousins, too. Tomorrow we're going to some place for tea.
