Kia ora!

Myself(Amy) and my partner Summer are embarking on our first trip to Asia. We are both 26 and born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. I am a qualified Audio Engineer/youth worker and Summer is a primary school teacher. Earlier this year we decided to leave the big smoke and move to the northland rural town of Kaitaia, where a lot of my family now live. We had had enough of the city life and were ready for a change of lifestyle allowing us to live a quiet, simple life the country offers. We have both travelled around the world with our families when we were younger and had not planned on traveling extensively in the near future as we wanted to concentrate on buying a home and starting a family. But as we all know nothing is set in stone and things have lead us to set off on an adventure around South East Asia focusing on using our time and skills to help those less fortunate and having the time of our lives while we do it! Ive never been much of a writer but thought this journal would be a good way to record and share our travels as well as keeping in touch with our friends and family. Enjoy!
