    “The Temperamental Cocoon Soup” – This is where the quest to find the one true thread begins. Women armed with chopsticks cleverly and exquisitely pull the thread from each cocoon and feed it through the reel. My host explained that the technologically advanced machine has been passed down from her great grandparents. “When I was a little girl this was my job, now I can do it with my eyes closed”, she joked.
