The National Mosque’s architecture exemplifies order and symmetry. It also is immaculately clean; shoes must be removed before entering and tourists may only enter at certain times of day.

Students who attend the school within the National Mosque take part in an assembly. The various roles, expectations, and amounts of freedom in Malaysian Muslim society differ greatly between men and women; these ideas, which are connected to their religion, are fostered from a young age.
