La granadina
It's the spring semester of my junior year, so I am celebrating with un gran viaje filled with classes (unfortunately) and crazy foreign fun.
Estoy aquí (queriéndote)

Friends: I am in Granada! Why, do you ask? Because I am just that cool.
Getting here was quite the trek. Minneapolis + Chicago + London + Madrid + Granada = almost 24 hours of nonstop fun. Lucky I met Brint in London, otherwise I probably would have gotten sick of my 6 hour layover in Madrid and gone home.
I met a bunch of other guys there too, but they went on to Sevilla. Probably because they looked at my jetlagged face. Shoot...
Granada is pretty cool, though. There are 13 in my group and we all get along really well. So, in honor of night nº 1, we went out on the town til 3am, which is obviously a great jet lag remedy.
Since then we've walked a few hundred miles (at least), touring around and admiring all the gorgeous architecture around the city. Quick history lesson: Granada was the last Moorish stronghold in España before los Reyes Católicos (Ferdinand and Isabelle) took over with their Inquisition. So while many mosques were destroyed, the Arab spirit lives on in the mudéjar style of architecture that is unique to Granada and the surrounding areas. I’m such a design nerd, lo siento.
Anyway, though, life’s pretty cool here thus far. My familia’s nice, class not too hard, food really good, and I’m meeting new people each day. I’ll keep you guys posted on the all crazy things that happen round these parts. Till then, ¡hasta luego!
