After a delightful evening in Caldas de Reis we headed to Padron today. Its a long hike today and inland now so it's a bit warmer. We started early...in the dark. Dumb. Nonetheless, we found our way through town, passing a few fountains and other pilgrims enjoying to local coffee shops. Below is a fountain on our trail out of Caldas de Reis.
We decided to stop for our morning Cafe con Leche about 4 miles into the hike and met Michelle from Bourge en Bresse, near Lyon France. The coffee shop was packed so she joined us at our table. Very intersting and friendly retired school teacher.

Many large churces have adjoining mausoleums. Today is Sunday and several ladies are bringing fresh flowers to the gravesites before Mass.
Saw this "Don't Stop Walking" sign on our way into Padron.
As we walked through Padron, we saw this street fair flooded with people just leaving Mass. Jeff finaly found a horse he's not afraid of!
After eating a bag of right-out-of-the-fryer churros, one dipped in chocolate, we waddled off to our hotel in Padron, the Pazo de Lestrove. It was built as a recreational mansion in the 16th Century for Compostela's Archbishops. Evidently those guys knew how to party!
Can't believe this is our last night before arriving in Santiago! Just a short 15.5 miles tomorrow and we will arrive at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
