ROADTRIPS

I´ve worked as a freelance concert and documentary photographer for the past seven years in places such as the Western Sahara, the West Bank or the Mixtec Mountains in Mexico and that has lead me to collaborate in documentary film projects, the last one was a collaboration with writer Alice Driver in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas on a short-film about her parent´s life off the grid.

The problem with this collaborations is that -even though my goal is to lead documentary film projects- I still feel more like a photographer rather than a cinematographer or a director and that´s probably because of my lack of experience working in the field with professional documentary filmmakers; that´s the main reason why I believe this scholarship would help me a lot: so I can see what I´ve been doing right and improve it with the wisdom of a professional, but also realize what I´ve been doing wrong and need to get rid of.
