Amazonas...The Lowland Jungle!

As a kid, I was enchanted with photography; being able to interpret the world & how I see it through the lens. The world is so diverse that it brings me a refreshed perception of happiness & amazement. Educating myself through the school of travel, the images I capture allow me to disclose the hidden treasures that inhabit our earth. In the 1/8 of a sec it takes the shutter to click, the feeling of euphoria overwhelms my creative senses & the storyteller inside me comes alive.
Coming from a Jewish Middle Eastern family, I was expected to see the world a certain way. Thinking outside the box was so extreme in my community. It led me to spend the greater part of my life driving in one direction, when I really wanted to go in the other. So last year I packed my bag and headed to Latin America for what I knew was the beginning of a renewed life. I began as a volunteer and soon recognized that the person I had evolved into begun to see and process things differently. Each shot brought new realizations and made me feel alive again. Listening, documenting, sharing…this is who I am.
I have always dreamed about being a photo journalist & working for publications like National Geo to spread world awareness. I never thought an opportunity like this was possible & when I heard about it I knew this was my chance for guidance and direction, my chance to tell the story of the world we live in, where it comes from & to be a positive influence on where it is going.
Sincerely,
Chantal Levy
