    Although Kathmandu is famous for its marketplaces this weekly market in Namche Bazzar is no less lively. It provides necessary supplies to lodge owners throughout the region. Some of them travel for days each way to purchase them with the merchants coming from possibly even greater distances. by: digitalschist Views[296] A trekker steers clear of a Yak convoy as they have been known to knock people off pathways to their deaths. The man guiding this typical method of goods transportation is also acting as a porter himself carrying a load which may weigh up to 80lbs. by: digitalschist Views[245] A Nepali craftsman from the lowlands hews blocks of stone by hand for the construction of a new lodge in Namche Bazzar as the demand for more beds increases annually. Notice the perfection of the blocks which have already been laid. by: digitalschist Views[274] This small Sherpa village is located off the main trekking trail outside of Phakding. It is vastly less prosperous due to a distinct lack of tourist generated revenue even though its agriculture provides crops for tourist consumption. by: digitalschist Views[371] The Lukla Airport can be considered the lifeblood of the Solukhumbu region. Its harrowing landing and takeoff experiences are the main artery of arrival and departure for the tens of thousands of trekkers to visit the region every year. by: digitalschist Views[294]
