Well it’s my last day in London today – kind of, I leave tomorrow but this is the last day I have left to explore. So where do I go? West End of course. I had planned to see two shows today but sadly, few shows have Tuesday matinees. The only one I would want to see that does have a matinee on Tuesday is ‘The Woman in Black’ – been there, seen that, bought the t-shirt (actually I didn’t buy the t-shirt, although it is particularly cute, I’m hoping to pick it up second hand one day).
Today I’m treating myself to a ridiculously expensive (for a backpacker) lunch/dinner of £17 followed by a big musical – Avenue Q. It had to be done. Despite my usual reservation about musicals I felt I had to end my London experience with one.
So, I’ve decided on this ritzy musical set in New York with, no doubt, British performers doing American accents – why I did not see this in New York I don’t know. I’m in the front row, again. This can be either a good thing or, interestingly enough, not. I have fortunately had brilliant front row experiences on this trip and tonight was no exception.
Avenue Q, front row – good choice. Vibrant, irreverent and damn funny!
