A total flake out day today. I woke up stressed and upset by my seemingly thwarted attempts to travel to India. I could barely work up the energy to go outside. So, I decided to stay in and experience a day of Canadian television.
So far I’ve …
- Found out what films launched the careers (in the eyes of America) of Hugh Jackman, Jackie Chan and Ryan Gosling
- Discovered the 10 hotest couples of recent film history (ie the last 10 years)
- Seen three homes be overhauled
- Learned all I ever wanted to about Pink and Dwayne Johnson AKA ‘The Rock’
- Watched a British nanny teach an American family how to wrangle their triplets
- Absorbed about two hours of news but only four stories and none outside if North America
- Been taught (apparently) how to look good naked
- Realized that Rachel Griffiths (one of my favs) made a really bad American film – who knew?
So, I think I have a couple of hours left in me but the thing is, today was a blah day and was not made any better by staying glued to the tube. I can see how people can get a tv addiction. It is a kind of soul destroying activity and like any drug it can be used to escape occasionally but its danger has to recognized.
