In 2010,I went to Europe for a brief vacation with my parents.Little did I know then that the holiday would lead to the germination of what has come to be a passion now.It was during this vacation that I casually clicked loads of pictures with my phone camera.I felt like it empowered me in a strange way;I realized I could not only capture special moments and make them permanent but also use pictures when words failed me.Since I am a little shy,my pictures,to me,are a very potent means of self-expression.
I tutored myself rigorously and practised on a my dad's digicam.After many months of self training as well as joining a film making workshop,I bought a DSLR and it was then that I went almost lunatic clicking.I then visited Singapore,Malaysia and Switzerland where I took many pictures and made many videos.
I see my camera as a friend that shall always be there,helping me see new worlds.I really wish to look for opportunities that help me learn more and strengthen my relationship with my camera.There is perhaps nothing better than the WorldNomads Scholarship to give me a chance like this,for it will combine two of the activities I am most interested in-photography and travelling.
