    They all come to me with eyes filled with dreams and hopes to make it big, sometimes alone, sometimes with a companion. They don't fear moving towards the vast, the eternal, the powerful. by: debashish Views[187] They toil everyday. And nothing seems to stop them. Not even the lines of age, exhaustion and labour that their faces make evident. by: debashish Views[187] On many occasions, all their efforts go unrewarded. It seems to me that I have disappointed them, sucked the colour from their lives and imprisoned them. by: debashish Views[159] And then, I take away from them their biggest strength- the optimism and hope they had come to me with. reducing them to the inanimate, as if they were old discarded furniture. by: debashish Views[160] This is when I feel most uneasy with the stark contradictions that reside in me-the obscene high rise buildings and the uncountable slums staring at them, in a curious mix of disbelief and humiliation.
