Sometimes you just gotta do it!

I’m in Nepal now and have been for a couple of weeks now.  Although I’m very happy to be back with the kids I love and in a country that I truly enjoy being in, this place does not like me!

I’ve been sick with the flu for awhile and it just keeps hanging on so I decided to go to Pokhara for a few days and get some fresh lake air.

After a bus ride from hell, literally the worst one ever, a 7 hour bus ride took 11 hours from Kathmandu to Pokhara and it’s only 205 km’s, it’s like driving from Revelstoke to Craigellachie multiple times. The highway is only 2 lanes but their 2 lanes are like one for us. Still not feeling great I felt like I was going to vomit, even after taking gravol and then having to fight for my seat every time we stopped just pushed me over the edge!

So what do I do?  The next day after sleeping for about 13 hours I decided to pamper myself.  I went shopping (of course!) and then for a half day beauty treatment at a spa.  I had a manicure, pedicure, facial and a massage and the best part was is that I actually fell asleep after it all, I only woke up when the door to my room opened!  Needless to say I feel so much better and I don’t even feel one bit guilty about it, considering my day at the spa only cost me $50!  I’ve also booked a flight back to Kathmandu...not a chance I’m ever getting on that bus again!!
