London again

Hi All,

Stop press. A day without rain in the UK. I think the statisticians have gone for the record books to see when this last happened.

Brazil day today so we went out to Elephant and Castle to watch the parade and get a little brazilian energy. The parade turned out to be a bit lame compared to what we have previously seen in South America. It was more a south american parade with many countries represented.

The parade ended at the park but we just fast forwarded it by walking in the opposite direct to see it all then walked back along to the park. A large music stage and lots of brazilians waiting. Sounds like the making for a party. Samba music starts...and my eyes nearly popped out when the carnival girls hopped on the stage with nothing much on and started to dance. Very Carnival.

Brazilians like Africans have the music and rhythm within them and when the music starts they move with the music so naturally. There was a brazilian mum watching in front of us enjoying the show. A body moving in harmony with the music. Beautiful to watch. We accept that we are white and have no rhythm.

Got a bit thirsty and found there was guarana for sale. Yahooo. Only problem was a queue of about 50 people. What to do? Learn´t a trick in South America. Go straight to the counter to the side of the queue. Before people could complain I had the drink and we were on our  way enjoying it :-)

Dropped into the war musuem on the way. Sure have some big canons out the front of the building and a very small submarine inside. Was worth the effort. It was free and so were the toilets (yay).

We have been making a habit of ending up in Covent Gardens since getting back. It really is great fun with the street performers and we were lucky enough to sit down and listen to Phil Edmonds today. He was setting up and fiddling around for quite a while and we though he would want to be good to take so long. Plenty of doubts. Well we were wrong. He was an amazing guitar player with a voice very similar to James Taylor. Don´t know why he was busking as he was way too talented. Not a bad show for 1 pound donation to his hat.

A few tracks here. Don´t know about the quality...
