Quick summary.
Day 0 Travel. 6 hr car trip with 8 passengers + 1 driver our guide Naiser. Jess, Tom, Petra, Roota, Thomas, Samona, Vanessa and myself. Overnight stay at lago Agrio a dangerous oil town according to lonely planet.
Day 1 3 hrs travel through the jungle then 2 hours boat ride to the camp. Night walk. Meet the camp baby monkey Pancha. Find taranchela in hut nearest eating area.
Day 2 Boat trip up stream to lake. Pink dolphins. Walk around edge of lake in boots. Jaguar print. Woodpeckers. Toocans. Tarzan vines. Heavy tropical rain. Tree falls to the side of us. Afternoon fishing for pihrana.Only caught 2...
Day 3 2.5hr boat trip downstream to traditional village. Village to traditional healer. Anaconda, Sloths, so many varieties of birds.
Day 4 Up early for sunrise on lake but raining.Canoe to lake then drift back. No camera. Sloth, smallest woodpecker in the world, woodpecker feeding chicks. Fishing for pihrana off the wharf. Caught 2 and 1 catfish. Swim in the river among the pirahna - don´t bleed! Swim in the lake with the sunset. Best sunset for the stay. Frog on Vanessa plate at dinner.
Day 5 Up early again but raining. Return to civilisation. 2hr boat trip, 3hr car trip to Lago Agrio then 6.5 hr bus trip to Quito. Such a long trip. Back at Secret Garden.
Meeting tonight in Quito for the 6week bus trip.
