...My Own Final Fantasy

London, England

So we finally got to heathrow, and i was so exhausted due to lack of sleep on the plane, which usually comes quite easy to me.

Anyways, Landon had a massive urge to go out and check out the city.... can't blame her really.. 12 hours of heathrow would have seen me commiting suicide. it really is probably the worst airport i've ever been in. anyways, we took the "tube" (subway) to waterloo and then took a stroll to the river... can't rightly recall the name of it. holy shit.. it was so cold. we didn't really expect we'd run out and do this trip so we were only dressed for thailand. i had my jacket to split between me and landon. terrible! so, the lack of sleep and the bitter cold kind of had us at eachother's throats at the beginning, but we ended up seeing some rad stuff that took our minds off it for some time. we walked by the london eye, which is that massive ferris wheel along the river, saw tghe parliament building and big ben... which was pretty excellent. from there we bee lined past st. james park to buckingham palace. it was at this point where we were getting way too cold. i suppose it was worth it.... i mean, i'm still alive. anyways. it was reallly realllly nice seeing alot of the old buildings and city blocks. old architecture gives my old soul a woody. ;)

after quickly discerning the quickest route to piccadelli circus, we settled in for some pizza hut upon arrival. i really wanted to find a classic brit pub for that classic british experience i always picture myself having if i ever went to england. alas, it was not to be and we bout probably 3 times more food than we could fit in us. i was starting to babble incoherently near the end so we thought it to be best if we got our leftover pizza to go and head back to heathrow.

i slept the entire tube ride.

approximately 4 more agonizing hours at heathrow before our connecting flight to bangkok....

anyways, i'm in bangkok now, have been for almost one day. i'll start a new entry for that.

Haha it sounds like you got the london experience. Cold and dull. I honestly have no idea why anyone would go there, but its still a shame i couldnt come down and meet you. It costs like $120 canadian just for the train, a fucking 2 hour train. Its bullshit.

As for the brit pub experience there's not many left, a massive chain realised that if they didnt play music in their pub, they dont have to pay the licensing fee for playing music, and so their alcohol can be cheaper. Shazam! wetherspoons is born, a massive chain of the cheapest pubs in england that are nothing like English pubs but they're the cheapest so all the british drunks drink there (from 8am onwards, i sometimes go there for breakfast). Anyway enough british crap, hope you're having fun.
