Japan has long since harboured a reputation for being a nation of hard workers. Employees continue their occupation way past western knock off times and many have very little spare time outside their work and home life. Here a lone taxi driver waits for his next client near a busy intersection in Tokyo’s financial district.

For a country so densely populated and so visually stimulating, it can often be hard to take a step back and dissect day to day living. Outside the hustle and bustle of inner city life, a lone worker sweeps the first evidence of autumn from an inner city park.

The fusion of traditional and modern elements of Japanese culture is evident in day to day life. A common site amongst residents is younger generations attending traditional events in their Kimonos whilst periodically checking their I-Phones or listening to the latest J-Pop hits. Here a Geisha poses for an advertising photographer promoting Japan as a culturally enriching travel destination.
