Walking along the coast of Kona in Hawaii I spotted little black crabs. I was pleasantly surprised to find this bright red husk of a crab, that shed its shell, still clinging to the lava rocks.

Does anyone know what it is I spotted one at Ala Moana Beach Park and took a picture of it but when I touched it with my phone it didin't move and seemed dead.
