About danmariner
Artist Statement
I am a documentary photographer based in London, England.
My personal reportage highlights underlying social issues and culture in Britain today. I am a photographer of people, exploring how their lives interconnect with and shape their communities.
I feel it is important to continue the rich heritage that Britain’s pioneering documentary photographers have left us.
I find inspiration from the likes of David Chancellor, William Albert Allard, Michael Wolf, Mark Power, Josef Koudelka.
Profile
I am a highly motivated, energetic and creative individual with a BA Hons Degree in Documentary photography from the University of Wales in Newport. While on assignment I found it necessary engage with a wide cross section of the general public in order to photograph them.
Through this I have developed excellent listening and communication skills, sensitivity and empathy, patience and on the spot problem solving. I am very confident in embracing new situations and environments, I enjoy a challenge and am willing to work extremely hard in order to gain the results I desire.
