My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

My name is Danielle and I am currently 21 years old. I am an amateur photographer living in New Zealand, and have had a passion for photography, animals and travel from an early age. I will be finishing a degree in Zoology this year, and am enrolled in a photographic imaging course next year commencing in February. I have a special interest in wildlife and landscape photography due to my love of nature, but enjoy all aspects of photography.
I believe this would be an incredible opportunity for me both as a photographer and as a person, as I am constantly amazed by nature, and photography helps me capture some of this magic. It is my goal in life to become a photojournalist or nature photographer, to try to show others the beauty and truths of the world, and I would love to learn and experience as much as I can about all aspects of this career.
To be instructed and mentored by a professional in this field would be truly amazing, and learning from this as well as being challenged is something that would make for an unforgettable experience.
My photos describe a journey I made earlier this year along the east coast of the North Island, New Zealand, camping on many of the beaches that make up the coast. I love the feeling of peace and complete isolation that one often feels when alone in nature, and that is what I have tried to capture here.
