Kit

UNITED KINGDOM | Tuesday, 18 September 2007 | Views [277]

I have been spending a lot of time deliberating what kit to take with me. I have read some pretty good stuff on the web about the pros and cons of taking sleeping bag, tents, etc.

I will need some of these things when I get to New Zealand and South America; common sense would say buy them when I get there, however, I have decided to pack them now. I looked at a lightweight “fleece” sleeping bag, but it doesn’t seem to be any lighter than my two season (cheap) sleeping bag, so I have decided to take that. I guess ultimately it is a personal choice, I would rather have the contingency, others may rather have the lighter backpack.

I have bought a Nemo Gogo bivvi bag/tent

The guys at work had a whip round and the money is going towards a new rucksack (thanks guys!)
