I met up with a work colleague who is over in Japan for some martial arts training (when he could be bothered ;-)) . One of his fellow students is English, but speaks fluent Japanese, he took us out for a meal to a very Japanese restaurant rather than the more touristy places I had been to up to now. He ordered in Japanese, the food was great and in the cubicle behined us, a group of twenty something Japanese seemed to be constantly playing some kind of hand clapping game which involved a lot of drinking. It was a great atmosphere.
