Ok so we managed to escape Bangkok after 3 nights... Bangkok was was interesting... We frequented Khao San Road every day picking up bits and pieces for the trip ahead.. We were sucked in a few times by tuk tuk drivers promising cheap trips but later found out that they were getting 1 litre of gas for every stop they made (a government incentive to promote thailand goods) - they basically tried to make us go as many places as possible for next to nothing so they could get the gas... problem was that every shop we went to tried to sell us stuff and when we declined they got very angry and would kick us out of there store..one man even told dale to get out..haha while i stood there laughing!!! "I no happy you no happy!" that is what every thai person that tried to sell us something would say..and so dale would say me no happy and walk out...very funny!!Samina has continued her ferocious bargining and nearly caused a few "incidents".. very funny as well.. but i will admit, she has saved us quite a bit with her constant persistance..lucky because the funds saved, have managed to also save thailands telecom with her calls to australia every day. We also went to a TAT (Thai Tourist Authority) place to see if they could help us get to Malaysia as South Thailand is a bit dodgy.. they took over and tried to plan our whole trip making us stay in certain places and take "flash" buses etc.. I think at the end they were going to charge us nearly $2400AUD exc. food for 39 days.. Im sure it would have made things very easy but thats not why we're here... So we decided not to take the easy road and go with the wind..which will be about 100 times harder, cheaper and probably very frustrating at times..but we think we can handle it.. Ok.. So Bangkok was very hectic and quite full on..Although a lot of fun, we were itching to get to the beaches as that is what we have been waiting for, for soo long..Khao San Rd also got quite annoying as you could not walk down the road without people pestering you every meter..Soo after 4 days we decided to pack our bags and start doing what we came here to do..RELAX!!!!!
Cha-Am is about 3 hours south of Bangkok.. we got a bus from BKK for 140bht each.. Its a funny place.. hardly any westerners and very much a thai beach culture.. We stayed at Janica House with a beautiful family.. The room was basic for 225bht but was ok for us. The beach was nice and water was rediculously warm. In one day we splurged - we went on a doughnut ride behind a jetski for 400bht after bargining down from 1000bht - that was heaps of fun although dale compared it to horseriding for men haha.. We also took a motor bike to a seafood place and bought these huge prawns the size of sems hand (see photo).. they were very nice and cost about $8each.. quite expensive i guess but worth every cent/baht. We got a one hour full body massage, with oil, for 600bht.. well worth it but sem said it was too hard and i said too soft. We continued our relaxing evening just sitting on the beach for a few hours..
From Cha-Am we went to Hua Hin.. we just got here a few hours ago and only plan to stay one night. Hua Hin has a good feel to it but we are keen to get to the beaches asap as our visa runs out soon... Hua Hin is quite like Cha-AM in reagrds to quite a few old western men with their youg asian chicks..we just seem to find that a bit sad but haay who are we to judge!!!Oops we just blew 300bht on Pizza. Better than McD's I guess. Bye x.
PS there is this crazy thai chick sitting next to us chatting to this reallly old white man online..It is soo funny cause she can barely speak english and the white man looks older than my grand dad - WELCOME TO HUA HIN!!!!!
