Lake Tekapo National Park in winter really does take your breath away. It is like a scene from another world, with no sign of life at all. Just frozen brown vegetation which crunched underfoot and a thick mist that created an eerily surreal landscape.

With a scene reminiscent of an Antarctic landscape, the snow capped alps and heavily desaturated coloured vegetation bore a stillness that was deafening. The Lake Tekapo National Park avails itself to some incredible photographic opportunities.

The night before our day trip to Milford Sound the weather forecast was for storms, 100mm rain, high winds and zero degree temperatures. We were initially bitterly disappointed ........ that is until we spoke to the locals who told us we were going to see Milford Sound at her most majestic ........ and we did. It was an incredible day and one that I will never forget.
