Today has been our longest driving day
so far, with us covering over 800 K's.
The Country music festival was
entertaining but very noisy, although I did manage to get a picture
of a man with a chicken on his head...
The day I spent on the sheep farm was
quite an education. In the morning I watched some guys 'drenching'
sheep with different worming concoctions seemingly at random. I later
found out that they were given different mixtures depending on their
ages. Later I was collected by Dylan and taken to lunch with Geoff
then off for a rather eventful afternoon. We dealt with a couple of
fly-blown ewes, then helped herd about 300 head of sheep up to
another dosing station. Once there Dylan and I went off to play on
the quads and caught up with Geoff, Tim and Matt. The highlight of
the day for Lydia (who had been off spending money) was getting to
ride the quad around the farm at high speeds!
The following day we drove down to
Dubbo where Hannah's parents live. We sorted out a few problems that
had been with us for a while, then had a lovely evening with great
food and a good drop of wine too! Thomas stayed off the grog that
evening as he was still recovering from two nights ago. Now we're
looking at roads so straight and long they disappear into the
distance, and we're fighting fatigue with wedding plans. God help
me...
