Every day a kid or two will beg me to buy a postcard or just outright give them some rupees. Today they ganged up to mug me! A half dozen or so of the little bastards were waiting on the street corner and spread out a rope across the path when I neared. Trying to ignore them, I walked past around a pole so they couldnt catch me. But my efforts were wasted as there were two kids ahead with another rope! I walked straight into it, dragging them a good 50 metres. They finally gave up when we reached the road, as we surely would have been hit by a car! Checking my pockets, i vowed to bring scissors for next time.
Today was a bit of a rush at the office. Not for me, I spent most of my time re-reading the brochures, with the occasional input on grammar and punctuation in emails. A few people were away and Ravi was now in London, leaving Amrit to deal with a few problems. The biggest one was a strike at the Chitwan Jungle Lodge - there were clients booked in for tomorrow and all the other hotels were booked out. Without Ravi to make any decisions, Amrit was stressing out a little but eventually solved the problem by changing the itinerary.
For lunch I was treated with something other than momos - chowmein! Nepal musn't have a lot of variety in takeaway. I was pretty hungry and tucked right in but had to gag on a chilli halfway through! The others were all very amused, making me wonder if they'd snuck a whole one into my meal. The more likely event is that I'm just a wussy foreigner!
I am trying to organise an Everest view flight - darn expensive but worthwhile. I asked Amrit how I should book it and he said that one of the groups were going in a few days. You beauty! What date is that? 27th March, whilst im trekking in the Himalayas.
