After another cold shower and some banana honey pancakes, I waited at the hotel to be picked up for lunch. Ravi had said around around 11am, so i decided to be there at 10:30 in case. A nepali came and sat next to me, offering everything from tour guide to magic mountain smoke. At twelve the guy at reception said "your friends are late? It Nepali time". That seemed to sum up the way it works in Kathmandu, there is just no rush so delays and lateness are just a part of life.
When I finally made it to Amadablam Adventures, I was introduced to everyone including Ravi. A nice lady pointed at herself and said "williams grandma". What? Turns out she meant ga aruma or something that translates to Nepalese teacher. Over lunch, Ravi explained what I would be doing - experiencing how the office and hotel works and later some PR with meeting customers. He said that it is valuable knowledge for later when I start a travel agency. Umm...
Ravi was a busy man, so he disappeared off to a meeting, leaving me at the office to 'experience'. After 1/2 hour of sitting around reading the brochure or watching the others sit around, the staff felt i had enough experience for the day and told me to go back to the hotel and to come back on sunday (saturdays a public holiday).
This working holiday is strenuous.
Back at the hotel I met an old American, who im pretty sure is a paedophile. Ok i could be totally wrong but a teenager was in his room and he always talked about other kids he'd met. Pedo or not, im not going near that guy again.
