My Scholarship entry - Mountain Guardians
Canada | Saturday, November 22, 2014 | 5 photos
At the age of 17, I became completely obsessed with photography. My work draws from a lifetime spent in the outdoors of British Columbia. Now 23, I hold a biology degree in ecology, and plan on becoming a full-time conservation photojournalist. As a universal language, I hope to continue using my photography to tell the world about the wildlife and wild places I document.
From this scholarship, I would most like to improve my story-telling abilities, and learn how to take on a project by assisting you in the field. I am very open to changing how I photograph, and trying new things. I want to be challenged. I want to learn, assist, and take things to the next level.
I am hard working, friendly, open-minded, physically able and technically skilled enough to make the most out of this incredible opportunity.
As a wildlife photographer, I challenged myself with my photo-essay. I shot this human-based story in my neighbourhood, just days before the scholarship deadline. The story is not over yet, and I will continue to document it until the very end.
