The full moon illuminates a local fishing boat. Xcalak Marine Park was founded by the local fishermen in order to ensure the sustainability of their fishing grounds.

Even a place as remote as Xcalak can't be completely protected from human pollution and litter clogs the coastline. Here the local children are attempting to make a difference. After learning about the damage litter causes, the children were excited to join my colleagues and I in removing as much as we could.
