1 May 2008 - Exploring the Heath

UNITED KINGDOM | Thursday, 1 May 2008 | Views [527]

Today I checked out another house that I might live in for a couple of months up in North London in West Hampstead. I then walked and took a bus to Hampstead tube station. I then wandered through the lovely village of Hampstead and onto Hampstead Heath. Hampstead Heath is most striking for its huge and plentiful open spaces so close to the city. There is a great view of London from Parliament Hill and there is an abundance of ponds, ducks, upper class Londoners walking dogs in all purpose gumboots and generally green-ness.... After I had walked until my feet hurt, I made it back to Hampstead tube and then travelled to a yoga studio one tube stop away from Liverpool Street station. I then took an excellent and extremely intense and challenging yoga class. I don't think I have ever done as many Chaturanga poses (low plank held a couple of centimetres from the ground) in the space of an hour and a half! I will be very sore tomorrow but it was worth it !! :) Check out my new photos of today's wanderings...
