A kendo shinai rests on the floor of a boy's bathroom adjacent to the gymnasium. Even though the buildings have been mostly cleaned out, items still remain as if to serve as an eerie reminder of the times once enjoyed here.

Being located only a few hundred meters from the shore, the school was one of the first buildings in the town of Nobiru to be hit by the tsunami. The water burst through these gymnasium doors upon the students gathered within. An overwhelming sense of emptiness now lingers where energetic youth once played.

Many of the classrooms had shelves in which students could place their belongings. They are all empty now, holding on to the name tags and stickers once bestowed upon them by their young users.
