Port Douglas

AUSTRALIA | Thursday, 19 July 2007 | Views [470]

5 hours or so after take off from Sydney (where, by the way, not one person checked our ID), we arrived in Port Douglas, 67km north of Cairns and one of the sunnier places to experience the Aussie winter. We're staying here for a week, and sick as we are of sightseeing, we're intent on doing nothnig other than chill on the beach. That said, it is a little chilly on the beach (well, windy really), and by the pool (buildings blocking out the sun, do you see), but we found a grassy park with palm trees and sunshine that'll do just fine. That's the park above, where husband and wife are photographed.

We're here until next Thursday, when we're off to Uluru and then back to Sydney to see the local AFL team, the Swans, take on Richmond. Go Swannies!
