I love the expressions of the mama and baby in this photo. I chose it because of their expressions, the mother's unusual dress and the faint, dreamy silhouette of Sapa's gorgeous fields in the background.

This photo gave me goosebumps the first time I saw it properly on a monitor. When I was walking behind these girls, I noticed how they were interacting with their land - a walk they probably do countless times a day - but still they both brushed their hands through the grass, feeling each blade.

These two girls are trying to sell various handy crafts to fellow tourists. While they appear to be above the poverty line, you can still see the desperation in her eyes; no doubt her lively hood depends on this sale. I chose this photo because of the emotion you can see in her eyes and also because for someone from a Western country where education is free to all, it's hard to see a young girl working instead of learning and being empowered.
