Seek Experiences - Kamaya

GABON | Saturday, 28 September 2013 | Views [419] | Scholarship Entry

I have always been fascinated by Gorillas so when I had the opportunity to work with them I jumped on it!
There were challenging moments, walking waist deep in leech ridden swamps (don't forget the crocodiles too) after a 10 hour walk through the forest desperately searching for any sign of a gorilla. But then the moment came, when finally we found them. As the days went by I fell even more in love with my family of gorillas, especially Kamaya (the most beautiful silver back in the world). During my time there I videos some short snippets to show my family and friends, and when I saw this opportunity come up I thought I would further share my new incredible experience.
I have always loved how photos and film can really bring people in, as if you are there yourself. I watch peoples reactions as I show them some clips and see how they get excited, laugh and at times cringe. Being able to wok in this industry would be a dream come true. I would love to bring wildlife, culture and places together in exciting documentaries and believe that this scholarship would give me the perfect opportunity to push myself in that direction. I have passion, enthusiasm, dedication...i just need you!
